Formaldehyde is a colorless chemical gas and has a characteristic pungent, irritating odor.

Formaldehyde can be toxic, allergenic, and carcinogenic. It can irritate the eyes and mucous membranes, resulting in watery eyes. Formaldehyde inhaled at this concentration may cause headaches, a burning sensation in the throat and respiratory tract; causing difficulty breathing, and may trigger or aggravate asthma symptoms. Skin contact with formaldehyde may occur allergies; even lead to hepatitis, pneumonia and kidney damage.

Formaldehyde creates a serious consequence to pregnant women, which lead to suspend the fetal growth and development during pregnancy; The cardiovascular hypoplasia, resulting serious deformity and abortion.

IARC has listed formaldehyde a kind of causing cancer substance. Although there was not enough evidence that breathe a high thickness of formaldehyde can cause the carcinomatosis to the mankind, but an evidence of filling shows that can cause the nose cancer in carrying on the experimental animal.

Formaldehyde resin also has been widely used in various construction materials. Such as: plywood, carpet, insulation materials, wooden furniture, flooring, decoration and decorative materials.

Formaldehyde generally will release from the source slowly. the new furniture  release the most of the content in the first few months; This releasing can last up to 3-5 years!
